CFAA Program Director – Salem
Title: CFAA Program Director
Type: Salaried, Exempt position
Salary: $49,920 - $58,240 DOE
Hours: Full-time / 40 hours weekly
EngAGE Northwest is a nonprofit that changes lives by transforming affordable apartment communities into vibrant centers of learning, wellness, and creativity – creating life enhancing engagement for people of all ages and cultures.
EngAGE Northwest is looking for a creative and enthusiastic individual with strong communication and social skills to build community through delivering programs in a multi- generational affordable housing community, a Community for All Ages (CFAA). The CFAA Program Director facilitates and oversees programs in the arts & creativity, health & wellness, lifelong learning, community building and resident support. The CFAA Program Director collaborates with onsite staff in the housing community and with other community service partners.
CFAA Program Director Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, organize, and offer on-site programming in the arts, health/wellness, lifelong learning and community building.
Work with EngAGE NW Executive Director and other Program Directors to develop innovative programming to further the experience of creative and healthy aging and intergenerational connection for affordable housing residents.
Recruit, contract, and communicate with Independent Contractors (teachers), speakers and entertainers.
Advertise and promote classes and events and monitor progress and participation.
Schedule and facilitate events such as musical performances, birthday celebrations, art shows, and other special community events and workshops.
Teach/ facilitate classes and programming as appropriate.
Shop for supplies for events and programming.
Build Relationships:
Meet regularly with property management to ensure good communication, collaborate on community building programming ideas, and ensure all programming complies with building rules and policies.
Research and gather information on local resources and organizations for partnering and collaborations.
Meet with residents to take a pulse on the community’s needs and to brainstorm ideas for programs and events.
Hold office hours to connect residents with relevant resources and services in the community to support resident stability and wellbeing.
Model supportive listening and communication techniques to support community building.
General Administration
· Generate monthly calendars and program fliers.
Submit monthly program reports using Excel and Word.
Monitor program budgets and expenses using Google Sheets, reconcile credit card expenditures in online app, and manage documentation for Independent Contractors
Attend scheduled team meetings and monthly All Staff virtual meetings.
Supervisory Responsibility
· This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
· This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands
· The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. This position would also require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
· This is a full-time (40 hours/week), salaried, in person position. Organizational days and hours of work are typically Monday- Friday 8:00am to 5:00 pm although some weekend and evening hours may occur for events and programming.
Travel
· Some travel may be required to shop for supplies or attend occasional meetings.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree is not required, but preferred
· Knowledge of older adult or family communities in affordable housing and/or populations with diverse lived experiences
· Experience collaborating with community partners. Knowledge of local nonprofit sector and arts organizations is helpful.
· Outgoing, team player with optimistic outlook and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Active listening and problem-solving skills, a solution-oriented attitude, and good judgement.
· Adaptable, and able to function well independently in a dynamic work environment managing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
· Ability to be flexible with hours when needed, with occasional weekend and evening hours.
· Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Google (Calendar and Drive)
· Fluent in English (speaking and writing), bilingual a plus.
· Current valid Oregon state driver’s license, comprehensive insurance, and good driving record
