‍ ‍CFAA Program Assistant – Salem

Job Description:

The Community for All Ages (CFAA) Program Assistant reports directly to the EngAGE Northwest Executive Director and collaborates with the CFAA Program Director and the leadership team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

The CFAA Program Assistant is responsible for onsite programming and activities at a CFAA community. Additional duties may include special projects and programs with duties defined on a “per project” basis.

The CFAA Program Assistant:

  • Works with the CFAA Program Director (PD) and EngAGE team to develop innovative programming in the areas of Wellness, Creativity, Lifelong Learning, Community Building, and Intergenerational Connection to further the experience of creative and healthy aging.

  • Coordinates with CFAA PD to create and advertise monthly program calendars and events

  • Organizes community building events / celebrations / intergenerational programs

  • Facilitates/delivers on site programming to residents

  • Maintains regular communication with property management staff/on-site teams

  • Helps to recruit volunteers, Independent Contractors, entertainers, and partner organizations

  • Coordinates with CFAA PD to manage Program Budget and prepare monthly reports

  • Monitors the progress and success of the classes, workshops, events

  • Helps connect residents with relevant resources and services in the community to support resident stability and wellbeing

  • Attends scheduled meetings

  • Reconciles credit card expenditures

  Qualifications 

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others.

  • Thorough knowledge of programs and projects, experience with affordable housing a plus

  • Considerable initiative and judgment in adapting programs to the needs of the individual resident or group, in securing the cooperation of the residents and personnel.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Adaptable, and able to function well independently in a dynamic work environment

  • Familiarity with computer programs necessary for reporting including Excel and Word

  • Experience working with older adults, with kids, and/or working with low-income residents and individuals with different lived experiences is a plus.

  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing), bilingual is a plus.

Requirements

·         Current valid Oregon driver’s license, good driving record, comprehensive auto insurance

·         Must be an Oregon resident.

Position:                      Program Director, Coventry Court Apartments, Tustin, CA                                

‍Type:                            Non-exempt, 20 hours per week

‍Compensation:            $20.00 – $23.00 per hour

‍EngAGE is looking for a creative and enthusiastic individual, with strong communication and social skills to build community and deliver programs in a mixed income independent living, housing community in Tustin, California. Using EngAGE’s whole person approach to creative living, the Program Director will facilitate and oversee programs in health and wellness, lifelong learning, the arts, including intergenerational programs and community building. This position is responsible for managing the Annual/Monthly Program budget.  Reporting to the DOS, the Program Director will collaborate with on-site staff at the housing community, and be part of EngAGE’s national team of Program Directors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

a.       Meets regularly with the residents, the other onsite service providers, and community partners and collaborators to ensure that programming meets the needs and interests of the residents, as well as ensure optimum participation. 

‍b.      Surveys interests of community generated by both EngAGE and owner

‍c.       Conducts focus groups / Supports Resident Committees

‍d.      Creates and advertises monthly program calendar and events

e.       Organizes community building events / celebrations / intergenerational programs

‍f.        Facilitates/delivers on site day and evening programming to residents

‍g.      Partners with community organizations 

h.      Provides residents with information about available services in the community

‍i.        Assist residents to access services through referral and advocacy 

‍j.        Assess and convey potential “light” case management needs

‍k.      Manage the teaching staff, teaching artists, and resident and other volunteers

‍l.        Generate and submits monthly class/program/event and attendance reports on both EngAGE and owner reporting platforms

‍m.    Fiscal responsibility in managing the monthly program budget, reconcile credit card expenditures, and manage IC documentation

‍n.      Attend staff meetings as required

‍o.      Collaborates with property management and service delivery providers for optimal programming and delivery of services

‍p.      Completion of Annual Trainings as requested by owner.

‍•       Highschool diploma with a college degree a plus

‍•       Outgoing, team player, with optimistic outlook and good judgment, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable and with flexibility to function well in a dynamic environment

•                                 Working with and programming for working families, older adults and youth

‍•                                 Knowledge of local nonprofit sector and arts organizations helpful

‍•                                 Interest and experience in the Arts
